Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation during July 2021. The highest deflation occurred in Sorong (1.04 percent) and the highest inflation was in Kendari (0.62 percent). Palangka Raya is the 35th city of deflation, while Sampit is the 29th city of deflation.
  • Deflation in Palangka Raya (0.14 percent) was influenced by a decrease in the index of the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.51 percent), the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group (0.09 percent), and the transportation group (0. 04 percent).
  • Deflation in Sampit (0.18 percent) was influenced by a decline in the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.66 percent), the information, communication and financial services group (0.13 percent), and the transportation group (0.10).
  • Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Central Kalimantan experienced deflation (0.15 percent), calendar year inflation rate (1.16 percent), and year-on-year inflation rate (1.78 percent).
